"Tymoteusz amongst Birds" is one of six performances for the youngest audience written by Jan Wilkowski where Tymotuesz the Bear is the main character. Although "Tymoteusz" makes you think of a serious bear, it's just a bear cub that lives in the forest with his daddy and one day finds a lost cuckoo's egg and decides to brood it. His dad doesn't like the idea as he cares about his family honour. Other forest animals also laugh at the bears. Tymoteusz doesn't worry and gets it all his own way. What hatches from the egg? To find it out you must see the performance. This colourful story for the youngest audience in a pleasant and funny way goes around the most important issues: tolerance, responsibility, relation between parents and their children, trust.

The author of the stories about Tymoteusz the Bear - Jan Wilkowski (1921-97) is acclaimed as one of the greatest figures from the Polish puppeteer world. He was a playwright, a stage director, an actor and a pedagogue. In the years 1952-1969 he directed the Lalka Theatre in Warsaw. Then, in 1974 together with Krzysztof Rau he started the Puppetry Department in Białystok (part of the Warsaw Theatre Academy). He was a dean of this Department for many years. Wilkowski was also a co-founder of the puppet theatre on TV and the author of a TV series for children called "Ula z Ib".
